You need more
links pointing to your site.
How to get them?
Do a search in Google on “submit a site”,
“free submit”, “submit a link”
etc. You will find directories, search engines and other
sites, which offer to include a site to their lists.
Do not waste your time on “Submit free to 11000
search engines” offers. What we need is an actual
site, which you can be linked from. You will easily find
some 40 – 50 sites you can submit your link to,
which is a good start.
Offer link exchange to the sites you think are in the
same area of interests.
Develop your content: more diverse and interesting content
can be found on your website, you have more chances that
someone will link to you.
Links pointing to your site should be from the popular
websites.
How to achieve this?
The only way is to offer a lot of original, worthwhile
and free content.
Your site should have sufficient amount of text-based
content.
Why text-based? Search engines index text - not pictures.
So every time you opt for picture instead of text, you
sacrifice ranking opportunities to visual presentation.
What exactly is “sufficient amount of text-based
content"?
Your selected keyword must appear at least three times
on the page to be efficient in terms of search engine
ranking. Too much text is not desirable either, the volume
of text on one page should not exceed 500 words.
Source code should be optimised ("tuned up")
Specific keywords should be targeted: selected, included
into the body of the text, included into the designated
areas of the source code.
Designated tags, such as “title”, "alt"
should be present in the source code and preferably contain
your selected keywords.
Overusage of non-html scripts (java, for instance), especially
when it is placed in the beginning of the page, may adversely
affect page ranking.
